About Offshore Wind in Taiwan

Taiwan is expected to become the second-largest offshore wind market in Asia after Mainland China in new installations by 2030.

In a few years, a full supply chain has been established and unlike other Asian markets selecting national protectionism, Taiwan is open for international business. Taiwan’s current target of 5.5 GW of offshore wind by 2025 has been doubled to 15.5 GW by 2035 showing how ambitious the Taiwan Government is to include offshore wind in its green energy mix. Key western OEM’s: Vestas, Siemens Gamesa Renewables, and GE are already involved in the first projects in Taiwan, and both Østed and CIP are also active in the Taiwanese offshore market.
