ENABL presents a state-of-the-art Blade Rack – with storage for 15 offshore blades of 107 meters in one rack

The world’s largest jack-up installation vessel, Voltaire, has now arrived at Port of Esbjerg, Denmark. From top to toe, Voltaire is as large as the Eiffel Tower, so it is a pretty amazing sight.

Not only is the vessel gigantic. The Blade Rack is too.

ENABL has designed and developed the Blade Rack for GE Renewable Energy to be mobilized on the vessel.

Here are some impressive facts:

  • The Blade Rack prototype can handle the large 107 meters LM blade used for GE’s Haliade-X Wind Turbines.
  • The Blade Rack can accommodate blades for five wind turbines.

It will be mobilized on Voltaire, and 15 offshore blades will be placed in the blade rack. After the installation of five wind turbines, the vessel will return to the quay to pick up new components for the next installation operation.

Voltaire will soon be in operation in Dogger Bank – the world’s largest offshore wind farm, located more than 130 km off the north-east coast of England,

The Dogger Bank offshore wind farm will generate enough energy to power up to 6 million homes every year.
