ENABL Earns EcoVadis Bronze Medal for Sustainability Performance
ENABL is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Bronze Medal from EcoVadis
ENABL has set itself apart by offering young, aspiring engineers a truly immersive and impactful experience through its Consulting Internship Program. Carefully designed to develop future industry engineering professionals, this program integrates interns seamlessly into the core of ENABL’s engineering efforts. Praised by Aarhus University and its students, the program is seen as a strong, serious partner in engineering development.
But what makes this program truly invaluable?
Central to the program’s structure is the commitment to train and develop future engineers who are fully prepared to make significant contributions to the industry. The program integrates interns into the company’s framework, treating them like actual employees to ensure they feel valued and ready to continue the engineering legacy. This mission is summarized by Anne-Mette Nils Ebbesen, Engineering Manager overseeing the internship program:
“We see it as our responsibility to pass down knowledge and cultivate the next generation of engineers, ensuring they feel valued and are prepared to carry forward the engineering legacy.”

Inside ENABL’s Consulting Internship
Launched in the fall of 2022, ENABL’s Consulting Internship Program is a five-month journey that transforms academic knowledge into real-world applications. Open to bachelor students, we welcome two interns every half year, immersing them in hands-on experience with advanced engineering systems.
Today, ENABL is home to three generations of interns, all under one roof. Current interns like Jakob Kristensen and Lasse Raun Møller bring fresh energy and ideas. Meanwhile, Emil Lodahl Andersen, Jacob Lander Visbjerg Rasmussen, and Ole Truelsen have become student workers, continuing to grow with us. Jonas Wendtland Edslev has taken the leap to a full-time role as a Junior Mechanical Engineer.
“ENABL defied the cliché of internships as purely routine,” says Lasse, who chose ENABL after attending the Internship Day at Aarhus University and talking to previous ENABL interns. “The interns really convinced me it was a true “learning meets practical experience” environment, with lots of calculations, and I trusted the stories they shared. Plus, the focus on renewables was an additional contributing factor for choosing ENABL.”
Martin Nielsen, Associate Professor from Aarhus University seems to have witnessed the same preference among his students:
“ENABL is appealing to students because it’s in green energy, which is a huge attraction right now and because it’s also known for being a professional and well-run company, where actual engineering calculations are performed.”
Interns at ENABL dive straight into a professional engineering environment, experiencing every phase of a project’s life cycle—from brainstorming and design to final approval. Their journey starts with a six-week onboarding program, where they work on a real-life customer project tailored for beginners. By the end of this phase, they’re ready to actively contribute and make a significant impact on company projects.
As Ole remarks, “I was genuinely surprised by the quality of training at ENABL. It provided a thorough overview and a remarkable learning experience that exceeded my expectations.”
Jakob emphasizes this transition, “At ENABL, the experience was more structured than I anticipated. Typically, internships involve repetitive tasks that aren’t always related to engineering. However, here we underwent six weeks of training, covering all phases—concept, design, documentation—and learned to navigate standards and software like SolidWorks and FEA.“
This hands-on approach provides invaluable practical exposure and cultivates a cross-functional skill set. As Michell Mirsbach, Chief Engineer, and FEA specialist & training developer for the internship program states,
“Our goal is to immerse interns in an authentic engineering environment, empowering them to understand and excel in every phase of a project.”
However, the success of an internship depends not only on developing engineering skills but also on fostering a positive workplace culture. Interns across all generations have praised the supportive ENABL colleagues, highlighting their significant role in the interns’ success, well-being, and development. These colleagues consistently show interest, make interns feel welcome, include them in daily conversations, and offer support whenever needed, contributing greatly to the overall experience.
Over time, ENABL’s Consulting Internship Program has evolved significantly through valuable intern feedback, ongoing dialogue and comfort-stretching tasks. Emil recalls his early experience when the program was in its trial phase, lacking structure, yet it pushed him deep into FEA and 3D design right from the beginning, as well as took him out of the comfort zone “Though I initially found standards boring, developing calculation templates changed my perspective entirely,” he shares.
Jonas, now a full-time junior mechanical engineer, remembers “having a lot of responsibilities from the first week, creating a unique learning journey” that led to his current role.
The constant dialogue and feedback sessions between ENABL and its interns have been crucial in refining and enriching the internship experience for future participants. As Martin Nielsen, professor at Aarhus University points out, “ENABL provides a structured framework for interns. They step into specific tasks, are given assignments, and are reviewed on their performance.” This transformation reflects ENABL’s commitment to continuous improvement and development.
ENABL has also seen growing interest in the program, evidenced by the recent surge in applications. This rise is not only a testament to the program’s validation but also highlights ENABL’s strong reputation among university lecturers and students.
It’s more than just an internship; it’s a pathway to long-term career growth within a supportive and innovative community.
